The World Athletics Continental Tour Gold Zagreb Meeting 2026 will be held at two locations, from 24 to 26 June
World high jump record holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh (UKR) and 2025 world finalist Fatoumata Balley (GUI) announced women’s high jump at the 76th edition of the Boris Hanžeković Memorial.
For the second year in a row, the high jumpers will take center stage at the Zagreb City Challenge, the competition that opens the three-day Boris Hanžeković Memorial. The wetaher forecast for this Wednesday, June 24, is favorable, and the athletes will begin their battle with the high jump at 6:30 PM at the Zagreb Fountains.
The biggest star and top favorite is world record holder and Olympic champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh, who previewed the competition at today’s press conference:
“It’s my first time in Zagreb, and I’m very excited. I’m looking forward to competing because jumping outside a stadium is really cool—it feels completely different because you’re closer to the people. I know the meeting record is an impressive 2.08 m and is held by Blanka Vlašić, but the start list includes the top three high jumpers in the world rankings, so it will be a very competitive competition.”
