ZAGREB CITY CHALLENGE

ABOUT ZAGREB CITY CHALLENGE

In its 72nd edition, the Boris Hanžeković memorial brought another novelty to the program of one of the world's strongest meetings from the WA Continental Tour Gold series – top athletics on Trg ban Jelačić, and the 73rd Boris Hanžeković memorial will also start with the competition on the central square of Zagreb.

In the first edition of the Zagreb City Challenge, the people of Zagreb and their guests saw attractive competitions in pole vault, triple jump  and long jump. Tina Šutej set a new meeting record in the pole vault with 4.61, while Croatian long jumpers Filip Pravdica (8.03) and Marko Čeko (8.00) allowed the spectators to witness jumps over eight meters from close range.

Ban Josip Jelačić square will also be the scene of the Zagreb City Challenge on September 6 this year, as part of which the long jump competition will be held. It is a new opportunity for our best athletes to achieve good or record results in strong competition and in front of the home crowd.
