Francine Niyonsaba had broken the World 2000 meter record last year in Zagreb and this edition of Boris Hanžeković memorial – Continental Tour Gold meeting will offer another World record breaking race.
This time men will try to chase the 2000 meter steeplechase World record set by Mahiedine Mekhissi in 2010 – 5:10.68.
The favorite runner in the field to challenge the record will be Olympic and world 3000 meter steeplechase champion Soufiane El Bakkali.
The field also includes world U20 champion from 2021 and Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Amos Serem, World and European championships participant Vidar Johansson and European U23 champion from 2021 Istvan Palkovits.
Looks like the 2000 meter steeplechase race will be the fast one.
The World record in all track events is sponsored by fast delivery service Paket24. This is an extra motivation for all runners to run as fast as they can. |
