The Boris Hanžeković Memorial race at 110 meters hurdles is always the central event of the Zagreb Meeting, so Olympic and World Champions and World record holders regularly participate in it.
That tradition will not be betrayed even at the 72nd Boris Hanžeković Memorial – WA Continental Tour Gold, because the temporary Start list is full of great runners.
First of them is Grant Holloway, two-time World Champion in 110-meter hurdles and the second fastest man in the history of this event. His personal record is 12.81, while his best time this season is 12.99.
But Holloway and all the other top hurdlers in Lausanne were beaten by Rasheed Broadbell a week ago. Broadbell arrives in Zagreb with a great victory and a new personal record – 12.99. Freddie Crittenden (13.00) will also run in the Memorial Race on September 11, which includes Daniel Roberts (13.03) too.
The women’s 100 meter hurdles race will not be any weaker. There will be as many as four runners who have a result better than Olga Šišigina’s Meeting record (12.60).
The bronze medalist at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Megan Tapper, has a result of 12.52, but Devynne Charlton (12.46) and Tia Jones- who ran 12.38 on Friday in Brussels – are faster than her this year.
The race will include current European Champion Pia Skrzyszowska (12.51) too.
