The 110m hurdles Boris Hanžeković Memorial Race has always been the central event of the Zagreb meeting. Olympic champions have won it seven times so far and world champions nine times.
Another member could join this eminent company at the 71st Boris Hanžeković Memorial, as Olympic champion Hansle Parchment has confirmed his participation in the Zagreb Meeting. Parchment has a whole set of medals from major competitions in his collection – Olympic gold and bronze and world silver – and his personal best is an excellent 12.94.
However, Parchment will not win easily in Zagreb’s Mladost Stadium on 14 September, as the Memorial Race start list also includes Tokyo bronze medallist Ronald Levi and Devon Allen, who finished fourth in Tokyo and who was also a finalist at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
The Boris Hanžeković Memorial Race record of 12.98 was set by Mark Crear in 1999.
