The discus throw event at the 71st Boris Hanžeković Memorial will be a sort of the Tokyo Olympics final rerun as all three Tokyo medallists are coming to Zagreb: the Olympic Champion Daniel Stahl (68.90), silver medallist Simon Pettersson (67.39) and bronze medallist Lukas Weisshaidinger (67.07).
The world’s best young discus thrower and European U23 record holder (70.35) Kristjan Čeh, who finished fifth in the Olympic final (66.37), will also be sharing the field with them.
Daniel Stahl is the last year’s winner and meeting record holder (68.87) of the Boris Hanžeković Memorial and the 2019 world champion from Doha. His personal best is the fantastic 71.86m.
