The US record holder and world’s fastest man this year told Croatian athletics fans what everybody wanted to hear: he is planning a very fast race.
„I want to run my personal best in Zagreb. I hope that the weather will play along“ Gay said upon his arrival at the Zagreb Airport.
Tyson Gay’s personal best is 9.69 seconds, and a better result would mean a new US record and getting even closer to Usain Bolt’s world record of 9.78 seconds.
Gay will have the best possible competitor at the 2010 IAAF Zagreb World Challenge on Wednesday, 1 September, as Jamaica’s Nesta Carter tied the season’s best in the 100m of 9.78 in Rieti on Sunday.
So, not one but two fastest men on the planet this year will run in Zagreb!
