Both single-lap races for women – the 400m and 400m hurdles – at the 76th Boris Hanžeković Memorial could bring results that we have not seen at the Zagreb meeting yet.

This is guaranteed by the performances of Salwa Eid Naser and Emma Zapletalova, bronze medalists at last year’s World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Salwa Eid Naser comes to Zagreb to run the first race under 50 seconds in the history of the Boris Hanžeković Memorial, since the meeting record for with exactly 50.00 is held by Jamaican Stacey Ann Williams.

Emma Zapletalová on Sunday won the Diamond League meeting in Rabat, running a new Slovak record and the best result of the season in the world with 52.82. The Zagreb meeting record for the 400 meters hurdles with 53.89 has been held by Jamaican Rushell Clayton since 2022.

Salwa Eid Naser (BRN) is crowned the Wanda Diamond League Champion in the Women’s 400m with a time of 48.70 in a new Meeting record at Weltklasse Zurich, the Wanda Diamond League Final, on Thursday, August 28, 2025, in Zurich, Switzerland.
