In its older, historical part, it’s hilly, winding, and organically integrated into its surroundings, while the newer parts of the city are orderly and spacious, with wide avenues perfectly adapted to the Sava River plain.
Zagreb doesn’t worry about its geography either. Although it’s firmly on the continent, you can feel a touch of the Mediterranean in the air, not just because of its proximity, but also due to the lifestyle. Directness and a love for the street, the square, conversation, socializing, food, and life in general are important traits of the people of Zagreb.

Thanks to the wealth of sports halls at its disposal, Zagreb provides numerous opportunities for team and individual preparation in indoor sports such as basketball, handball, wrestling, judo, karate, gymnastics… And that’s not all. Zagreb is also an ideal place for athletes’ training because the intimate atmosphere of the Mladost athletic stadium by the Sava River provides the perfect environment for the phase when athletes need peace. An important detail is that the stadium boasts a new athletic track, throwing area, and jumping facilities.
